We are always searching for something…
Life is a journey. A constant search. It starts when we’re young with the first candle we blew out- Make a Wish they say. Or when we find a penny and pick it up- it’s your lucky day. Or throwing change into a wishing well or into a body of water with other coins- Make a Wish! Then you have the dandelion- He loves me, he loves me not. Then there is the intention settings with birthdays, the end of the year, the beginning of the new year, heck even the moon cycle.
We’re always chasing and searching for something better. And listen, I’ve been guilty of participating in all of these. Some are novelties of our society, some are a part of our culture and some we adapted to our lifestyle because it resonated with us.
All this boils down to voicing what you want. Letting yourself dream but with instructions, and limits, and due by dates, and a story that may or may not be your own.
What would it be like to let yourself dream and not worry about how you’re going to do it. Just do it. Without the programming.
The universe wants you to have what you want. Speak it, write it, feel it. Allow your body and mind begin to connect with what you want in a different way, rather than Make a Wish ( a wish you can never tell anyone because you were fed a story when you were younger that if you told your wish to someone it wouldn’t come true). Devastating! Life is to be shared.
Part of dreaming and dreaming big is letting go…letting go of prescribed ideas. It allows you to connect with your inner child, that part of you that is so free it doesn’t need a date to dream big or make changes or set certain goals for self-improvement. It’s a part of you that loves who you are and believes whatever you desire you can truly have. The kicker is whatever you’re dreaming or desiring needs to be felt and connected with much more deeply than something you tell yourself or circle on a calendar. It’s a fully embodied feeling, one that lights you up from head to toe. It’s a deep listening of the body. And sure the mind will most likely interject but just say hey, that’s cool, my mind is doing its job, thinking, and go back to your dreaming.
I challenge you to allow yourself to start dreaming big. Release the obstacles your mind will most likely put in place of your dreams. Don’t fight them, just notice them and go back to dreaming.
Dreaming and improving ones life shouldn’t be reserved for special occasions. It should be a lifestyle. Not one we are constantly setting a date for. Allow yourself to dream freely and frequently.
